Bridges of Paris

There are many things to love about the City of Light, but one of my absolute favorites happens to be all the gorgeous bridges spanning the Seine.  Whether it be by day or night, in my opinion they give the city its charm.  Here are a few of my favorite bridges in Paris.  Next time you are here, take a minute while walking along the Seine to soak up the beauty that transports you from Left Bank to Right Bank.

Pont Neuf - The oldest bridge in Paris, it not only spans the river, but also cuts across the beginning of Ile de la Cité, making the sight of this bridge from the west absolutely picturesque.

Pont des Arts - While there might be other walking bridges in Paris, this is the one.  It is a perfect place for a picnic after a day spent in the nearby Louvre.  Couples wanting to prove their love put locks on the bridge and throw the keys into the river.  Lovers, musicians and anyone wanting to soak up the energy Paris has to offer can be found here day or night.

Pont Alexandre III - This might just be the fanciest bridge in Paris with its golden statues and winged horses flanking each side.  The intricate craftsmanship that went into building this bridge cannot be denied; it is an ornate masterpiece.

Pont de la Concorde - Hands down my favorite bridge in Paris.  You might be asking yourself why considering the bridge itself is not all that special looking compared to the ones above.  Well, it helps that my husband proposed to me on this bridge one cold March night four years ago.  After that, it sort of became de facto our favorite spot in Paris.  Despite that fact, though, this spot really is gorgeous.  What the bridge's façade lacks in wow factor, the views from the bridge itself make up for tenfold.  Standing on this bridge, you have a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Place de la Concorde and the Assemblée Nationale.  Go at night for the full awe-inspiring effect.

I know what you mean. It killed me to have to pick just a few photos to put on the blog. I have so many!
